Melbourne Victory is delighted to announce the signing of Anna Sutter.
The 24-year-old defender, a Swiss national born in Sydney, spent the last two seasons playing for Swedish team Eskilstuna United.
During the 2025 and 2026 seasons, she recorded 47 competitive appearances for United, helping them clinch promotion to the Damallsvenskan in the first of these as champions of the Elitettan.
Sutter will be available to debut for Victory this weekend, subject to the issue of a working visa.
Melbourne Victory A-League Women’s Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, commented:
“Anna arrives at the Club ready for an exciting new challenge, having enjoyed real success in Sweden’s top two divisions.
“She adds strength to our defensive unit, along with impressive versatility down the entire right flank, and increases the competition for places to give us welcome selection headaches.”
Sutter said:
“This is an incredibly proud moment, returning to the country of my birth to sign for such a special team, with a proud history and legacy of winning.
“I cannot wait to meet my new teammates and get stuck into training as we start the new A-League season.”
Sutter’s arrival follows Sophie Harding, Alicia Woods, Ayana Aoyagi and Angela Beard signing, Claudia Bunge, Chelsea Blissett, Nicki Flannery, Courtney Newbon, and Zoe McMeeken re-signing, and the awarding of Scholarship Contracts to Leyla Hussein, Chloe McKenzie, Poppy O’Keeffe, and Sienna Techera.
