Victory sign striker Sawyer

Melbourne Victory is delighted to announce the signing of Harrison Sawyer.

The 29-year-old Australian striker, who has spent the previous two seasons in the A-League, has agreed terms to join Giovanni Savarese’s side on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Sawyer hit the back of the net 13 times in his two years for Macarthur FC, across both his A-League, ACL2 and Australia Cup appearances, prior to joining Victory.

Sawyer’s career has taken him overseas on multiple occasions, representing Davao Aguilas and Tai Po in the Philippines and Hong Kong, respectively, Indian Super League outfit Jamshedpur, and VPS of the Finnish top flight.

These experiences were split by two successful stints at South Melbourne, where as a prolific goalscorer he won both the NPL Victoria title and Golden Boot award in both 2022 and 2024.

Melbourne Victory Director of Football, John Didulica, commented:

“Harry has been a hugely effective player in recent seasons and one that has made a real impact in whichever league he has played, so we are especially happy to bring him to Melbourne Victory.

“His football journey and consistent performances demonstrate significant resilience and will provide us with not only a highly impactful player, but one who provides both complementary and alternate attributes to our other options in the final third.”

Sawyer said:

“To sign for, what is in my opinion, the biggest club in Australia, is such an exciting moment and the start of what I hope to be a special next chapter in my career.

“It is great to be back in a city that I know so well. I look forward to playing at AAMI Park as a Victory player, and I can’t wait to give everything for our supporters.”

Welcome to Victory, Harry!

Sawyer’s arrival follows Harry Shillington joining Victory, Mikey Ghossaini, William Kengni, Jack Mihailidis and Malik Olukhale all signing their first A-League contracts, and Jack Warshawsky and Charles Nduka agreeing contract extensions at the Club.
