Nishan Velupillay will join up with the Socceroos for a pre-World Cup training camp.
Melbourne Victory’s 24-year-old attacker is one of eight players set to arrive in Sarasota, Florida, later this week.
Velupillay has six caps and three goals for his country and featured in Australia’s most recent international – a 5-1 win over Curacao at AAMI Park in March.
The Socceroos are preparing for the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, where they will face Turkey, co-hosts the U.S., and Paraguay in Group D next month.
Tony Popovic’s final 26-player squad is due to be announced on Monday, June 1.
Good luck, Nish!
