Melbourne Victory forward Archie Thompson says he’s ready to return to the pitch, should he be selected for this Saturday’s Christmas Derby.
Press play to hear Thompson’s thoughts on the Derby and the rivalry with cross-town rivals, Heart.
Thompson said he had recovered from his hamstring injury, which forced him to the sidelines in Victory’s last two games.
“It was touch and go against Perth, but we thought it was best to give it another week and being a big match this – I’m up for it and I’m up for selection so whether (Kevin Muscat) chooses to start me or put me in the squad, we will see,” Thompson said.
“In derby matches, you forget where each team are on the ladder… these games are separate to your form… but if we perform as we have been over the past few weeks, then the pressure is definitely on them.”
