Melbourne Victory forward Kosta Barbarouses says this Saturday’s match at Etihad Stadium will be a tight tussle with an in-form Sydney FC.

After winning the PFA Player of the Month award, Barbarouses has been in rich form.

“I feel very fit, very strong, full of confidence,” the 24-year-old said.

“Musky (Kevin Muscat) has given me licence to just express myself in the final third.”

Speaking about this weekend’s clash, Barbarouses said he was hoping his side would continue its undefeated streak, but wasn’t taking anything for granted.

“We have to be patient – maybe a little more patient than we were on the weekend, when we tried to rush things at times.”

Barbarouses said he wasn’t sure if teammate Gui Finkler would return on Saturday, after missing Friday’s win over Central Coast Mariners.

“I asked him this morning, he said he was feeling pretty good,” Barbarouses said.

“I’m not sure if he’s going to be alright, but (we’re) still a few days out.”

“It’s not going to be a long-term thing, so he’ll be back with us shortly.”
