Speaking after training, Coe praised the depth of Victory’s squad, saying there was definite competition for spots as the season progressed.
“We’ve got good depth in our squad, and we know whoever comes in will do really well,” Coe said.
He said Brisbane’s solid start to the season set up Saturday’s encounter at AAMI Park to be a mouth-watering tussle between two strong sides.
“I think they’ve got a good team and they’ve had a great start to the season. They play good football, so it will be a great game on the weekend.
“Two sides wanting to play good football and they are in first position and that’s where we want to be, so for us it’s a massive opportunity to bridge the gap (to the top of the table).”
Coe said he had been impressed by the efforts of super-sub Gui Finkler, including a stunning last minute equaliser in last Saturday’s clash with the Wanderers.
“I think everyone was quite happy he put that one in. He’s been working hard to get back to full fitness and it’s great to see him scoring goals, important goals as well, and coming on to the pitch and changing games.”
