World Cup Watch: Victory Women Set To Feature In Women’s World Cup

The world’s eyes are on Australia and New Zealand in what is set to be the biggest single-sport tournament in both countries’ histories.

Australia and New Zealand both open their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaigns on Thursday 20 July in the opening matches of the tournament, and both are set to feature some of our very own girls in blue.

Both Chids (Alex Chidiac) and Bungie (Claudia Bunge) were selected for the final World Cup squads for the Matildas and Football Ferns.

CHIDS

Alex Chidiac has been named in her first FIFA Women’s World Cup squad after narrowly missing out in 2019.

The Julie Dolan Medal winner will look to take her stellar season in the A-League Women’s competition into the Women’s World Cup with the Matildas as one of Australia’s best midfielders continues her impressive career trajectory.

BUNGIE

Starting her professional career with Melbourne Victory in 2020, Claudia Bunge is also set to feature in her first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The 23-year-old defender has been a rock down back and will be looking secure the Football Ferns their first-ever World Cup win.
