Well, we’re now three games into the season and who would have thought the top five would be equal on points?

We certainly knew we could do it but I do think we’ve surprised a few people and teams. But, you’re only as good as your last game, so roll on Canberra United this weekend as we have to prove to the rest of Australia that we are a team that-s going places!

Going back a few weeks to our game against Sydney, it was a shame we never got a point out of that game. I personally was pretty gutted as I could have sealed the draw with a last minute penalty, but missed.

No chance to keep my head down for long as my teammates were amazing and picked me up straight away and we got on with it… no time for self pity!

It was a tough game as Sydney is a force to be reckoned with, and having to travel to Sydney isn’t easy. It was a great chance for all of us to do some team bonding and in the end we have learned from that loss.

On to better things, the week leading up to the Perth game was good, we were ready to make amends for our loss and show that we can compete.

It was great for us to be able to train at Bob Jane Stadium, where we would be playing our game as the ground is very hard.

It meant we got used to the bounce and the wind that welcomed us on Friday night! Rain, wind and sun were forecast for Sunday so we weren’t too sure what to expect.

What we got is all of the above! It was great to see us dominate the game and finally be rewarded with a 3-0 score line at the end of it.

The feeling in the camp is great! We are excited and wary at the same time for this weekend’s game.

Aside from the footy, I even managed to enjoy the Melbourne Cup and put on a few bets on the Kiwi horses, and also managed to head out to the Yarra Valley for some relaxation!

All in all, life is good in Melbourne!
