Melbourne Victory‘s tough run of fixtures continues with a mid-week trip to Sydney to take on Western Sydney Wanderers this Wednesday night.
Victory will be hoping to return to winning ways following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Melbourne City.
Alex Chidiac was the goal scorer for Victory, extending her current hot-streak of form.
The derby result means Jeff Hopkins’ side are now unbeaten in their previous six games, although more wins are necessary if Victory are to maintain their top four spot ahead of the chasing pack.
Wednesday night’s clash sees the defending Champions head to Wanderers Football Park to take on a Western Sydney side coming off back-to-back wins against high quality opposition.
Victory though have an impressive record against the Wanderers, winning eight and losing only one of their 15 meetings.
Hopkins will need to manage his squad effectively throughout the week, with a trip to Adelaide and a home game against Sydney FC still to come later this month.
Nonetheless, Wednesday night’s fixture makes for appointment viewing with both sides on undefeated runs and the fate of their respective seasons hanging in the balance.
