Woods checks in at Victory

Melbourne Victory is delighted to announce the signing of Alicia Woods.

The 22-year-old Australian midfielder, with experience in the Junior Matildas, including at the 2024 FIFA U20 World Cup, has agreed to join Jeff Hopkins’ team ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Boasting 53 Ninja A-League outings, after debuting in the competition two-and-a-half years ago, Woods was ever-present in her first full season at her previous club, Brisbane Roar, when she was named Young Player of the Year.

The all-action operator most recently took to the field for Olympic FC in NPLW Queensland, having previously played for Peninsula Power and Sunshine Coast Warriors in the competition.

Melbourne Victory A-League Women’s Head Coach, Jeff Hopkins, commented:

“At only 22, Tish has built up a solid bank of experience and is well versed in what is needed to be successful in both the A-League regular season and finals series.”

“We all look forward to working with her every day in training and seeing her presence in the midfield have a positive impact on games for the team here at Melbourne Victory.”

Woods said:

“This is a really proud moment for me, leaving home comforts behind and signing for Melbourne Victory, such a respected and successful club.”

“I know what I can offer the team and cannot wait to let this loose on the pitch, pushing hard every day to win and give the supporters moments to cherish.”

Welcome to Victory, Tish!

Woods’ arrival follows Ayana Aoyagi and Angela Beard signing, and Claudia Bunge, Chelsea Blissett, Nicki Flannery, Courtney Newbon, and Zoe McMeeken re-signing.
