Melbourne Victory makes another trip to begin its Foxtel Y-League season, visiting Adelaide United on Sunday.
Summary
Victory suffered a 7-0 loss to reigning champion Brisbane Roar in its opening game of the campaign away from home.
It faces another trip in Conference A when it visits Adelaide, which recorded a 3-0 win over Perth Glory in Round 1.
Victory was punished in Brisbane despite a solid opening 30 minutes, and it had centre-back Matthew Bozinovski sent off late.
It meets Adelaide for the first time since December last year, when Victory claimed a 2-1 win at home.
A Yazid Said strike and Jared Clark own goal set up Victory’s win in that Round 5 encounter at Marvel Stadium.
When it visited Adelaide in Round 1 of last season, Victory suffered a 3-2 defeat.
Head coach Gareth Naven’s pre-match thoughts
“Our style of play (has been the main focus), how we defend and how we attack and how we can do it better and build on from the 30 minutes against Brisbane and making sure we do those things better as a group, and how we press, how we regain the ball and go and try and score, just getting better and repeating our style of play and try and affect as many people as we can.”
