Melbourne Victory makes the trip to Perth looking to continue its fine run of form in the Foxtel Y-League when it faces the Glory on Sunday.
Summary
Victory visits Dorrien Gardens on the back of a three-match winning streak that has it second in Conference A.
It recorded a 3-1 Derby win over City at CB Smith Reserve in Round 5.
Lleyton Brooks, Joshua Varga and Brandon Lauton scored their first goals of the season in the fine win.
Victory is aiming to win four consecutive games in the competition for the first time since early 2013, when it went on a five-match winning streak.
The teams met at AAMI Park late last month, when Victory recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win.
Birkan Kirdar and William Wilson were on the scoresheet in a deserved win.
Head coach Gareth Naven’s pre-match thoughts
“In the Foxtel Y-League, all the matches are very close, whether we travel or don’t travel. All the youth teams have intentions to practice what they’re doing at home and show the style of their club so, if I didn’t expect a tough game, I’d be disappointed. It’ll be a tough game against Perth and no different to when we played Adelaide and Brisbane and City. Our players will have to think about what they’ve been doing well over the past few weeks and repeat it. That’ll be our focus, try and improve every week playing the style of the football club.”
