Melbourne Victory returns to Foxtel Y-League action seeking a third straight win when it hosts Brisbane Roar on Sunday.
After a win over Adelaide United, Victory overcame Perth Glory in Round 5 on December 17.
While the break may have robbed his team of some momentum, Victory head coach Gareth Naven said there were also positives.
“It’s similar to what happened last year, we had a small break,” he said.
“On the other hand, it gives you more opportunity to work with the players so that’s a real positive thing for me.
“It gives the players a little bit of nice time in regards to Christmas to be with their families so there is a definite benefit in that.
“I know the players will respond well looking forward to their game against Brisbane this weekend at Epping Stadium.”
Victory forwards Pierce Waring, 19, and Nuh Sehavdic, 17, have each scored two goals this campaign.
Brisbane sits third in Group A, level on points with fourth-placed Victory, which has played one fewer game.
