Melbourne Victory Stars Claim Top Honours at 2025 Dolan Warren Awards

Melbourne Victory is proud to announce that A-League Women’s star Alex Chidiac has been awarded the Julie Dolan Medal at the A-Leagues’ 2025 Dolan Warren Awards, while Alana Jančevski has claimed the Isuzu UTE Goal of the Year.

In a record-breaking season for the Club, midfielder Alex Chidiac delivered a standout campaign, featuring in 25 matches and playing a key role in Victory’s success. Her performances earned her a second Julie Dolan Medal, making her just the fifth player in history to win the award multiple times – joining Michelle Heyman, Sam Kerr, Clare Polkinghorne and Taryn Rockall.

Across the regular season, Chidiac contributed two goals and five assists and was a dominant force in midfield, helping drive Victory’s club-record unbeaten run that led to a place in the Ninja A-League Women 2025 Grand Final.

Known for her humility and high standards, Chidiac described the award as both unexpected and a huge honour.

“It’s really special to receive the medal from Julie,” Chidiac said.

“I think I’ll take some time to reflect on the season,  both as a team and personally. I can be quite harsh on myself and my performances, so it’ll be good to debrief collectively.

“It’s been a unique season – playing a different position, having a different role in a more defensive team. I usually play more creatively, so it’s felt a bit strange at times personally,  but clearly, I’ve been doing something right, along with our team performances.”

Chidiac credited the Club’s environment and culture for her success.

“Victory have backed me since day one and the individual accolades, as well as the team ones, are full credit to them,” she said.

“This league has some of the best players in the world. When you look at our young talent, they’re right up there with the best globally.

“It’s an exciting time to be in this league, the culture, the fans, the investment, and I hope we continue to see more supporters each week.”

Meanwhile, teammate Alana Jančevski claimed the Isuzu UTE Goal of the Year, with her stunning long-range free kick in Round 13 against Sydney FC flying into the top left corner.

It was a standout moment in a brilliant season for the young attacker – not her first top goal honour, having won Goal of the Year as a 14-year-old in the NPL.

“To do it again, and now at a higher level, is so special,” Jančevski said.

“It’ll always hold a special place in my heart – it’s definitely the best goal I’ve ever scored.

“We pride ourselves on set pieces and our coaches put so much into them. Being part of a team that backs me and puts in that work is a privilege.”
