Melbourne Victory is pleased to confirm that Grace Maher will be rejoining the Club ahead of the upcoming A-League Women’s season.
Establishing herself as one of the finest footballers in the league, Maher is a highly regarded left-footed player who is equally capable of playing in defence and midfield.
Earning a place in the PFA’s 2023/24 Team of the Season and competing in the A-League Women’s All Stars against English giants Arsenal at Marvel Stadium last year, the 26-year-old has previously represented the Australian U20 national team.
While operating in the defensive line, Maher is no stranger to getting involved offensively, contributing both four goals and assists last season.
Spending two seasons with Victory from 2018 to 2020, Maher expressed her joy at making her return to the Club ahead of the 2025/26 Ninja A-League campaign.
“I am extremely excited to be able to call Melbourne Victory home once again.
“The Club’s ambitions align strongly with my own and so this opportunity was something I could not turn down.
“I am looking forward to working with Jeff and an incredibly talented group of players to help bring home more silverware for this Club”.
Welcoming Maher back to the team, Melbourne Victory Women’s Head Coach Jeff Hopkins spoke highly of the Dubbo-born footballer.
“We are excited to have Grace rejoin the Club, she has gone on to do great things since her first spell at Victory and we are thrilled to get her back on board.
“With plenty of experience playing at this level and captaining her side last season at just 26 years old, we feel that Grace can really elevate our squad in the pursuit of silverware.”
Maher joins new recruits Zoe McMeeken, Rhianna Pollicina, Chelsea Blissett, Sienna Saveska, Kennedy White and Taylor Ray for the upcoming A-League Women’s season, coupled with the re-signings of Laura Pickett, Ella O’Grady, Courtney Newbon, Nicki Flannery, Rachel Lowe, Holly Furphy, Alana Jančevski, Sofia Sakalis and the signings of five rising stars.
