Melbourne Victory’s Brendan Hamill spoke to 3AW’s Sports Today on Thursday night.
The experienced defender, fully recovered from an ACL injury that kept him sidelined for much of the team’s 2025/26 effort, is raring to go for the new A-League season, which starts with an away trip to Wellington Phoenix next weekend.
Before that opener in New Zealand, Victory have the 2026 Hahn Australia Cup Final to contend with, facing South Melbourne at AAMI Park on Saturday, October 10, kick-off 7:35pm AEDT.

Speaking to 3AW, Hamill explained how he is looking forward to fighting for the Club’s third Australia Cup crown, having been part of the side that beat Central Coast Mariners in 2022’s final.
“I am looking forward to getting out there and putting on a show and seeing what the level of the A-League is.
“We are going there to put on a performance and going [there] to win.”
