Melbourne Victory Women’s Head Coach Jeff Hopkins spoke today ahead of Sunday’s Semi-Final against Adelaide United in Adelaide.
Hopkins on the team’s preparations…
“I’ve been really impressed by the quality of training this week.”
“There’s been more energy about the girls than I’ve seen in a few weeks. That fatigue seems to have gone, I think we shrugged that off with the Canberra game. The extra day of rest could be pretty vital for us.”
“I’m very positive about our chances this week and really happy with what I’m seeing from the players – they seem to be in really good spirits, which is the most important thing.”
On what’s changed since last time we faced Adelaide…
“I think our attitude will be completely different – we’ll be going over there, rolling our sleeves up and ready for a real battle.”
“Bungie (Claudia Bunge) will be back. As far as I’m aware, we haven’t conceded a goal when Bunge and Brooke (Hendrix) are together, which is quite pleasing.”
“Melina Ayres and Amy Jackson are also available now, so it could be a completely different line-up for us.”
