Melbourne Victory locks in E-League players ahead of new season

Melbourne Victory has named its E-League representatives for the 2022 season.

Mo Zwed and Anthony Saad will compete for Victory in the new season, which kicks off on Saturday.

Zwed is an inaugural member of Victory’s E-League team while Saad will pull on the navy blue for the first time.

Saad’s group stage matches will be played on Saturday 7 May (from 4pm) before Zwed competes on Saturday 14 May (from 1pm).

The pair’s FIFA 22 teams will consist of players from around the globe and in a new E-League rule, must include two players from the club they represent, in this case Melbourne Victory.

The tournament begins with the E-League Group Stage commencing on May 7 with Australia’s best-known FIFA 22 competitors vying to clinch bragging rights for their clubs and be crowned champions on PlayStation 5.

The live events, broadcast on Twitch, will take place over four days in May and the top two players in the E-League Finals will qualify to represent their A-Leagues club and country in the FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs.
