Melbourne Victory is pleased to announce the signing of defender Brendan Hamill for the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The 31-year-old joins the Club on a two-year deal, signing on until the end of the 2025/26 A-League Men’s season from Indian Super League side Mohun Bagan.
Hamill returns for his second stint at the Club after joining in 2021 where he made 19 A-League Men’s appearances in a successful campaign with Victory, lifting the Australia Cup and playing a key role in the Club’s second place finish.
The defender spent two seasons in India, winning the Indian Super League in his first season and lifting the Premiership in his second season at Mohun Bagan.
Melbourne Victory Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo said Hamill will add steel to the Victory defensive line.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Brendan back to the Club for the upcoming season,” Kisnorbo said.
“He’s an experienced centre back who has proven himself at A-League level with his ability to read the game and defend on the front foot.
“Brendan is a familiar face and has the character that fits around the changeroom and we believe he will have even more to give this time around for Melbourne Victory.”
Hamill was also looking forward to returning to Melbourne.
“I’m excited to be back at Melbourne Victory,” Hamill said.
“After two seasons abroad, now was the right time to return to Australia and I’m excited to work with the team and the coaching staff to push myself even further.
“My last season here was a special one for me and I’m looking forward to achieving the ultimate success with the team this season.”
Hamill joins Josh Rawlins, Jing Reec, Reno Piscopo and Jack Duncan as the Club’s latest additions for the 2024/25 A-League Men’s season as the side begins its preparations for the Australia Cup Round of 32 clash with Lambton Jaffas on Tuesday 6 August.
