In the lead-up to our Member Recognition Round game against Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park on Saturday night, we’re featuring stories on some of our most passionate members.
On Thursday evening, we hear from Tessa Veljanovski.
How long have you been a Victory member?
Tessa: 8 years.
What is your favourite Melbourne Victory moment?
Tessa: The 2018 Semi Final vs Sydney FC with Terry Antonis’ redemption goal. Being there to experience it in person was an unforgettable feeling.
Why do you support Melbourne Victory?
Tessa: Being a supporter of the Club has allowed me to meet amazing people who are now lifelong friends. The atmosphere created by fellow supporters is unrivalled, and the success that the team has experienced over the years is the icing on the cake.
If you could be in charge of Melbourne Victory for one day, what would you do?
Tessa: Have a raw and honest conversation around what is and isn’t working, and what needs to be done, moving forward. You need to ensure all players, coaches and other staff are willing to make changes (even when it’s uncomfortable) to ensure that everyone can be at their best and work together as a team to experience success again.
Who is your favourite Victory player and why?
Tessa: Rai Marchan. Since coming to the Club, it’s been easy to see that he’s willing to do anything (including putting his body on the line) for the team. He’s played some excellent games for us and continues to do so. Off the field, he takes the time to talk to supporters and really be a part of the wider Victory family.
Who would you like to see playing for Melbourne Victory?
Tessa: As much as it pains me to say this… Jamie Maclaren. There’s no doubting his talent and we desperately need a striker that can get results.
Show your support at our final game of the 2022/23 Isuzu UTE A-League Season on Saturday night when we host Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park, as we celebrate our members at Member Recognition Round.
