Popovic: we’re still very positive

Melbourne Victory Head Coach Tony Popovic spoke to media this morning ahead of tomorrow night’s AAMI Park clash with the Central Coast Mariners.

Popovic on our form since the FFA Cup Final…

“We’ve had three results we’re not happy about but we’ve also got an opportunity tomorrow, here at home with our support, to get back on track with a good performance and win.”

“We had a very good first half here against Newcastle last week before the send off. We need to build on that 45 minutes and turn that into 90 very good minutes. If we do that, we’ll get the three points we desire.”

On the feeling in the playing group…

“From what I’ve seen from the playing group travelling back from Western Sydney, they’re very positive and there’s a real desire for this game.”

“They want to get back on track quickly.”

On facing the Mariners…

“The last time they were here it was a Cup Final and we expect it to be another tough game as that Final was.”

“We’ll work extremely hard to make sure we get the same outcome and take the three points.”
