Melbourne Victory coach Tony Popovic says his side will need to improve their performance to bounce back in next week’s Melbourne Derby after losing 0-1 to Western Sydney.
On the performance…
“We didn’t deserve to win the game. We started off very well and then after that they were physically strong, dangerous on the break and there was a comedy of errors for the goal that we conceded.”
“In the second half we had a lot of the ball, a lot of entries in the box, but we needed that goal to really change the course of the game, change the momentum, and it just didn’t come.”
On their preparation for the Melbourne Derby…
“We’ve got a lot of work to do. It’s a good game to have coming up, obviously Derby’s are special games but we know we have to improve to have a chance.”
