Melbourne Victory will not underestimate an understrength Newcastle Jets side when the two teams meet at AAMI Park on Saturday afternoon.

While the Jets visit Melbourne with a weakened squad due to injuries, they have banked impressive results this season, which Kevin Muscat believes makes them a dangerous side.
“They’ve had some very good results so far this season, and some good performances,” the Victory head coach said.
“There’s a certain unpredictability about them. They’re certainly capable, and we won’t be underestimating them.
“If we perform well, the result will look after itself. If we don’t perform well, we’re relying on luck or decisions or other things.
“The focus is clearly on strategy and performing well. Going out there and putting on a performance that reflects something we’ll be proud of.”
Victory has won three of its past four matches in the Hyundai A-League, saluting against Western Sydney Wanderers, Wellington Phoenix and Adelaide United.
While pleased with Victory’s overall output this season, Muscat wants his team to iron out inconsistencies within matches.
“There hasn’t been a game where we haven’t performed well, but I don’t think we’ve executed for long enough,” he said.
“I suppose everyone’s in the same boat, trying to get the level of their performance to the best they possibly can but for the whole 90 minutes.
“We want to make inroads on that tomorrow night.
“We want to start bright, start really aggressive in our demeanour and play an attractive, entertaining brand of football that rewards us with three points.”
